Planning

In this project, I partnered up with Vedha Vania. We first discussed what kind of website she wants and what's the content of the web as well as the overall style she loves. From that discussion, we concluded that the theme of the web will be pinkish in color and have an overall feminine vibe.

After that, we shared the assets of the content such as the images and the text via Google Drive. Below is the planning process.

Prototype

Below is the prototype of the home page of the web.

Process

Below is the template I found. I used it as the reference and base of the project.

I then adjusted the code of it in Dreamweaver to fit my prototype.

Reflection

Experiences

This module has been very kind this semester. I feel this module gave the least amount of workload compared to other modules. Allowing us to breathe between all the hecticness of the deadlines. It's also a very fun one because we got to learn lots of new things that are very different from what we have previously learned. When we are sometimes faced with what seems to be like a dead-end while we're coding, we try to help each other out and if we can't be of any help we basically still try to support each other mentally and I love that spirit. But, what could not be fully expressed, is the satisfaction and joy you get when you successfully solve the problem.

Observations

I notice that my friends are also enjoying the module because we're all learning new things even though it can be challenging. Personally, I feel that I've become more efficient in dissecting the codes compared to how I was previously. I guess it's is a good sign that tells me that I'm improving and growing.

Findings

I learned the importance of giving sufficient white space when it comes to designing for the web. Also, we have to keep in mind about the accessibility and the usability of the design interface in order for users to successfully complete their goals when visiting the app. Although aesthetics is important, it should not compromise the usability of the web.

Learn, Discover, Find, and Search: Elements of Usable Design
(Week 12)

The article explained and compares the idea of learnability, searchability, discoverability, and findability, and how it affects the overall user experience. The author has successfully explained it in an easy manner and relates it to the day-to-day experience in our lives. Such as how he explains searchability and findability by using buying a banana in a grocery store as an example. This allows the reader to better understand the idea of it. The author also touches the topic regarding dark patterns when trying to boost discoverability.
